PUBLIC Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar declared that a new toll-free expressway from Tarlac City to Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, will be open to motoring public on May 15, 2021.
Villar said that witihin the next 90 days, the 18 kilometer section from the connection of SCTEX and TPLEX in Balingcanaway, Tarlac City up to Aliaga Interchange of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Project Phase 1 will be substantially completed.
He checked the progress of works for the ongoing four (4) lane 30 kilometer CLLEX Phase 1 that will cut travel time between Tarlac City and Cabanatuan City from 70 minutes to just 20 minutes.
Villar was joined in his inspection in Central Luzon by Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain, Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino, Project Director Virgilio C. Castillo and Project Manager Benjamin Bautista of UPMO Roads Management Cluster 1.
The 4.10 kilometer Tarlac Section and 6.40 kilometer Rio Chico River Bridge Section including 1.5 km Rio Chico Viaduct are already completed while the 9.20 kilometer Aliaga Section and 10.30 kilometer Cabanatuan Section 78.46 and 85.04 percent accomplished, respectively.
An additional 4.8 kilometer component of the expressway project from the junction of Carmen-Cabanatuan Road is the Zaragoza Interchange Section.
“We are seeing a quality infrastructure that will benefit around 11,200 motorists and commuters daily and ease traffic at Daang Maharlika Highway about to be delivered by the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration”, Villar said.
The P11.811 Billion expressway project is part of the administration’s deliberate focus under the Build, Build, Build program on developing the provinces through connective infrastructure that will not only cut down travel time but also help farmers from the Philippines’ rice granary of Nueva Ecija in delivering their crops to markets of Central Luzon and Metro Manila.
